Minutes of MLBT Meeting March 4, 2008

In attendance: Roy Innella, Josh Isler, David Luce, Joe Davison, Paul McCabe, Susan Shute and Ron Bridge

1. Group Size and Specialties: Size was less of a concern than the addition of other specialty areas to compliment the group. Although an IT person had been previously discussed it was agreed to table that specialty area for now. Consensus was to try to add a CPA, both a commercial and a residential real estate broker, and a HR executive. Other possibilities placed on the table were a pharmaceutical exec, an executive placement exec, and a trust department manager. The understanding was that all of these candidates would be vetted in some informal way prior to be invited to join the group.

2. Need for One on One meetings: Was unanimous that this will be the most effect way to launch this endeavor. Everyone committed to have a one on one meeting with every counterpart prior to next group meeting in April. The thought of having “who I am” 5 minute presentations at group meetings was considered but generally dismissed, with the exception that members should be given the floor on a periodic basis at group meetings to update new practice and business developments they may be undertaking.

3. MLBT Info Package: Consensus was it was worth doing in some way, shape or form. However, more to a targeted market (i.e. relocation execs) rather than on an universal basis. Thought was to keep it simple at this stage, and to explore using the blog as an interactive cross-selling device as to our respective services and products.

4. Blog: It was the general consensus that the established blogsite would be a better vehicle for communication between the group as opposed to emails to and fro and all about. Roy was going to look into how to refine the blogsite in this regard, but was emphasized that everyone must be “enrolled” or “signed in” for it to work as a central clearinghouse of info. Apparently, postings , once made, would then be auto emailed to all members. This is a Work In Progress, but has great potential as to group communications which will be vital for the group to grow and prosper. It was also suggested and recommended that once blog access is acquired that each member should place a refined profile of his/her capabilities and a detailed description of target client bases. Paul’s point that we should use this as a resource base to assist other’s where we do not have the direct abilities, but have the contacts to do so was duly noted, since this is the ultimate value of a true network. Secretary’s overview of discussion was to build this as an elite, premier “TO GO TO GROUP” that can filter contacts in and out to ourselves and then to other professionals as necessary, thus expanding the web from its strong center.

5. Next meeting: Wednesday, April 2nd at Bryn Mawr Trust in Bryn Mawr with Susan as host.

Secretary’s Synopsis: Priority on COMMUNICATION through group interaction 1/1 mtgs and blog; recruiting of other professionals to fill out the group in a systematic and logical manner.

As always, sure I may have missed a point or two, so feel free to supplement.

Duly submitted,

Joe Davison

I assume we're still on for a meeting at Ron's office next Wednesday the 14th at 7:30? I don't see any updates on the site so I'm not sure...

Thanks

Probably a good idea to get together SOON on ideas to present to Ken for the potential article. Available dates in the next 2 weeks? Location? (Can do my place if needed). Not the same views as Susan's but easy to get to.

Thx
